Supporting and assisting CU academic staff to provide learning opportunities for their students to enable them to make informed decisions and take responsible actions for environmental integrity, economic viability and sustainable society for present and future generations.

ESD Working Group Mission

Our first objective was to increase staff and students awareness about UN sustainable development goals. Then providing an opportunity for CU academic staff to share practice,  thought and ideas on embedding and integrating the goals into the University curriculum. To achieve those objectives we have been running regular webinars and workshops on SDGs and ESD across the Coventry University Group (Coventry, CUC, CU London, CU Scarborough). We created a 4-step model to integrate and embed the SDGs into the curriculum of modules and courses aligned with pillars of transformative learning in the Coventry University Education Strategy. In this academic year, we are focusing on supporting CU academic staff in integrating SDGs into the university curriculum by bringing the challenges and issues that societies, communities and industries are struggling with into the classroom level and engage students with authentic experience and practice.
